5th of August '10: Dear friends and guests of QF2010 - we need your help!

The pre-organizing group of Copenhagen Queerfestival 2010 would like to thank you all for an amazing festivalweek. You rock our world!!!
The festival did this year take place in a new setting and we faced different challenges relating to that. But we also enjoyed building up on more space than the festival ever had before!
We all went through an intense week of discussing, evolving, listening, dancing, practicing, hugging, cooking and sharing, and as usual when events like this happen there is also conflicts, political discussions and difficulties in organization. We are especially happy that this years festival had a bigger discussion about racism and whiteness on the festival, and we would like to continue that. So if you have anything to add to the discussion or more ideas about how to deal with it at next years festival please write us. In the pre-organizing group we feel that we learned a lot from the week, and we simply cant wait to get started with Copenhagen Queerfestival 2011.
For this we would very much like your help already!! To make an even more amazing festival next year, we need to evaluate this one first.
So: If you participated in the festival this year, we would very much like to have an evaluation e-mail from you . All sorts of critic, feedback and inputs from the week, will be recieved with gratitude.
Help us do a better job next year and write us an email with your thoughts and ideas, even if you only attented the festival for only a day or an hour. Group-evaluation is also very welcome.

19th of July '10: Now it is almost happening!

The Copenhagen Queerfestival is soon to begin, and therefore this is some information about the location and how to find the way.

This year the festival will take part in another part of Copenhagen, called Sydhavnen (The south harbor). The address is Teglholmsgade 28, 2450 København SV and the place is called Teglholmen.

We have a lot of space. The buildings consist of a huge hall, kitchen, some small rooms and rooms there is big but not as huge as the hall. Besides this there is lots of outsidespace with roof, so never mind if it's raining. There is plenty of parking space. It is located in a lovely area, with nature and only 100 meters to the water. Remember to respect the nabours, and don't make noise outside after 10 pm.

Teglholmen is normally used by a group called Floating city. Their project is also going on during the festival, and a part of the area will be maintained only for this. Floating City is a climate project and they are using the space for building up different kinds of crazy and beautiful floats, ark and boats.

15th of July '10: From today we'll really start the building/preparation out in Floating City/Tegelholmen - and it's gonna be awesome and alot of work aswell. Alot of stuff needs to be moved around, we gotta create rooms and many things. So no matter what you're special skills are, bring them out to Tegelholmen - they will definately come in handy!! And it's already from today wohooo - 2 people is gonna start at around 14. Sooo whenever you have some time and energy - you'll know where to put it! It's everyday from now on. It's not structured in a way where we have a meeting time everyday. But if you know you are going out there at a surden time, or you started some preparation of the place you want to inform about or need help with; write it out here! It's gonna be a heck of a party!!! Heres a little teaser to what to expect at this years fest - enjoy

24th of June '10: Status Update- one month to go!!
Wooooohoooo!!! the Queer festival is only a month away! We have a venue confirmed, most of the parties are set (watch this space for performers etc) and workshop proposals are flooding in! Soon we will have the sign yourself into the schedule workshop program up and running on the website and we can all start picking our times and places for the things we want to do!
The queer fest collective is meeting weekly at Bumzen (baldersgade ...) 19:00 to hang out and have political discussions etc. We are having working meetings at Tegelholm (the venue) on Monday the 12th of July and Saturday the 24th to sort out where we will put everything and to start making the spaces. (and hopefuly people will be organizing other times to go and clean and build at those working meetings!!)
Lots of people from all over europe have taken on doing different things to make the festival happen- but there are still heaps of ways to contribute so check out the list of things to do and don't be shy to email the info email with offers of spectacularness...

10th of Mai '10:

The festival is starting to take more and more form. There are still questions about the location of the festival, that hopefully will fall in place very soon. We already hold the first benefit party for the festival. We made a Queer bingo night on the 28th of Marts. On the 29th of Mai we are making a support party together with the queertopiafestival if you are in Copenhagen we can both use your help making the party, and would love to see you as guest. Click on the picture for more information about the party. Even though stuff are not up on the homepage program yet, there are some people already in place fore both evening and dayprogram. But there are still room for more performers and more workshops. Look under the page practical information to see how you paticipate making the fastival happen.

1st of April '10: We are glad to be able to inform that there are going to be a 5th Cph Queerfestival. There are still a lot of details we are working on, keep informed on this page and/or subscribe to our newsletter in the form on the right.
