The Queer Festival Location

This year the Queer Festival moves to a great location at AFUK (a school for artistic disciplines) in central Copenhagen. Here we have perfect surroundings for a real festival feeling with room for concerts, workshops, exhibitions, movie screenings and more.
In between activities you can hang out at the outdoor café, go for a swim at the harbor front just around the corner or maybe do a bit of cruising at the Amagerfælled Park.

Facilities

We have a stage at the place for performances and concerts, which will be open every day during the festival.
Furthermore we have accommodation facilities for about 50 people at the place, a room for film and video showing and 4 workshop spaces.
We also have two yards, which are surrounded by the buildings of the school, and one of these have a stage which can be used for acoustic music and other performances.

Getting there

By plane

The festival is about 15km from Copenhagen Airport. You can go by train directly from the airport to station Ørestad Station (direction Copenhagen). At Ørestad Station you'll find the Metro (direction Vanløse) and go to station Islands Brygge Station. From there it's a 3 min walk to the festival (see map)

BY TRAIN

The festival is about 2km from Copenhagen Central Station. Go by bus no 40 (direction Islands Brygge) and ask the driver to stop at Kigkurren which is right by the festival. The bus departs approx 4 times an hour.

GETTING AROUND

The Metro 'Islands Brygge Station' is a 3 min walk from the festival (see map) and will take you to central locations in the city such as Nørreport or Kongens Nytorv. Also bus no. 40 departs right around the corner from the festival approx 4 times an hour (direction Nordhavn St) and takes you to the Central Station.

The city has provided some free city bikes that you can pick up from different places. They are however very popular and might be hard to get hold of.

The Metro is open from 05 to 00 all days and all night through on the nights after Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Regular buses go from 05 or 06 to approx 00.30 at night.

TICKETS

You can buy single tickets or cards (klippekort) of ten tickets at the stations. Tickets are valid for all trains, Metro and buses in the city.

All locations mentioned above (except the airport) are covered by a 2 zone blue 'klippekort'. You must stamp your card which is then valid for one hour from the time stamped. Cards not personal and can be shared.
